FC Lahti, Finland's first-division football team, and Falkenbergs FF, the Swedish second division football team, visit CE Football Salou this week. Both teams are staying at the facilities of Cambrils Park Sport Village, a resort that from September to May, has features and services specially designed for athletes.
In the Nordic countries, the football season usually starts from the month of April in order to take advantage of the weather. For this reason, as it is still cold, the two Nordic teams have chosen the area of Cambrils and Salou to prepare for their next football season, which will begin for Falkenbergs FF on 1 April and for FC Lahti on 7 April.
FC Lahti finished eighth last season in the Veikkausliiga, Finland's top professional football league. Falkenbergs FF return to play this year in Superettan, the second division of Sweden. Until last year, they played in first division and shared matches with Malmö FF, league winner and team that has also been training at CE Futbol Salou and staying at Cambrils Park Sport Village.
FC Lahti arrived in Cambrils last Sunday, March 12, and they have already started their training. In addition, they have also been able to play friendly matches against teams from the area. On Monday 13, they played a friendly match against FC Ascó, where the Finns beat Ascó by 3 goals to 2.
Falkenbergs FF players arrived on the Costa Daurada on Wednesday, March 15, and this morning they were already training at the CE Futbol Salou facilities. In addition, they will play their first friendly match against FC Lahti next Friday, March 17, at 16h in the facilities of CE Futbol Salou. This game will be open and everyone who wants to attend can see it.
